To successfully complete the course and receive academic credits, participants must submit all pre-course, onsite, and post-course assignments.
📋 Course Assignments
1. Pre-Course Assignments
- Deadline: 5 July 2026
- Tasks:
- Introduction Video: A 1–2 minute video introducing yourself, your background, and why you are interested in joining the course.
- Essay: A brief essay analyzing the current challenges faced by tropical biodiversity and the potential opportunities in the age of data and AI.
- Coding Prep: Self-paced preparation of basic coding skills and reading assigned background materials.
2. Onsite Practicum & Group Works
- Duration: 13–18 July 2026
- Tasks:
- Field Data & Lab Notebooks: Documentation of coordinates, ecological data, and lab notes during the field trip and wet lab sessions.
- Student Biodiversity Summit Presentation: Groups will synthesize their genomic and spatial analysis results and present their conclusions/recommendations during the closing summit on Day 6.
3. Post-Course Assignment
- Tasks:
- GitHub Pages Portfolio: Create an online project report or analytical portfolio summarizing the methodologies, maps, genomic trees, and conservation policy briefs developed during the course.
