6  INCULS

The first week of the NCP program is hosted by the Indonesian Language and Culture Learning Service (INCULS) at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada.

6.1 Course Overview

  • Course Period: June 29 – July 03, 2026
  • Target Level: Beginner 1 (A1 / Pemula 1)
  • Location: S-429 (Soegondo Building, 4th Floor), Faculty of Cultural Sciences UGM

6.2 Learning Objectives

By the end of this intensive program, participants are expected to be:

  1. Comprehend Daily Matters: Able to understand key topics related to work, education, and free time in clear, simple conversations.
  2. Express Personal Interests: Able to comprehend and rephrase statements concerning personal interests.
  3. Describe Surroundings: Able to describe local surroundings through basic speech and writing.
  4. Cultural Navigation: Prepared to handle various daily social and cultural situations when visiting Indonesia.

6.3 Curriculum & Teachers

The intensive curriculum consists of 30 hours of language instruction and 6 hours of traditional Batik crafting:

  • Vocabulary-Reading: Nabila Muliawati, S.S., M.Sc.
  • Grammar-Writing: Ilfat Isroi Nirwani, S.S., M.A.
  • Listening-Speaking: Noor Diana Arrasyid, M.A.
  • Batik Class: Drs. Djandjang Purwo Sedjati, M.Hum. (held at F9 Building, Pusaka Jawa)
